Picnic for Poki Hawaiian Music Concert
Roselani Place and Ola Na Mele Productions invite you to a Picnic for Poki Concert at 11:00 AM at the Historic Kaahumanu Church in Wailuku Town, 103 South High Street on Thursday, August 15, 2019. Our featured guest with live Hawaiian Entertainment will be The Maui Jam Band.
Nä Hökü Hanohano Nominee, Al Nip, has been playing Hawaiian music on Maui since the mid 70s. He has shared his music to malihini and kama`aina at many Maui venues. The "Maui Jam Band" has evolved into a traditional Hawaiian band playing your favorite Hawaiian folk music. Band members that will be at Picnic for Poki include Al Nip on slack key guitar, Lance Tokushima on ukulele, Kona Lau on steel guitar, and Wayne Purdy on bass guitar. Hula dancers will be Kathy and Hauanu. The Maui Jam Band released a new CD last summer. Please join us to hear their latest music.
Bring your lunch with you and enjoy coffee and fresh baked cookies from Roselani Place. Relax under the monkey pod tree for an hour or so at this free event, which is open to the public. Bring a friend!
Picnic for Poki is held every third Thursday on the month to continue bringing the spirit of aloha and Hawaiian music to the Maui community in honor of the late Allen "Braddah Poki" Pokipala. Braddah Poki was dedicated to sharing Hawaiian music throughout various venues in Hawaii.
